Delaware State laws require business entities to maintain a Resident Agent in the state that you form your business. The agent's name and office address are included in the Articles of Incorporation or Articles of Organization to give public notice of where to send important documents to your business entity.

Registered Agent Requirements

Every corporation shall have and maintain a registered agent, which agent may be any of the following: (i) the corporation itself, (ii) an individual resident in this State, (iii) a domestic corporation (other than the corporation itself), a domestic limited partnership, a domestic limited liability company or a domestic statutory trust or (iv) a foreign corporation, a foreign limited partnership or a foreign limited liability company authorized to transact business in this State, in each case, having a business office identical with the office of such registered agent which generally is open during normal business hours to accept service of process and otherwise perform the functions of a registered agent.
